|PREformances with Allison Charney is premiering a stunning new rendition of Ethel Smyth’s “The March of the Women” — the song was considered the anthem of the suffrage movement. It is being performed, remotely, by a star-studded ensemble of leading female classical musicians across the country, and is part of a complete online concert and conversation celebrating women. This program — Episode 6 of Season of Hope — featuring soprano Allison Charney (MM ’91, AD ’94) and pianist Donna Weng Friedman — debuts Tuesday, August 18th, at 9:00 EDT—specifically on the 100th anniversary of ratification.
PREformances with Allison Charney, now in its 11th season, is a one-of-a-kind classical music series in an important venue in NYC. It gives audience members the unique opportunity to hear directly from today’s top musicians in an up-close-and-personal setting. Due to COVID, the series has now transitioned to an online platform, and is focusing on the message of Hope. Allison Charney both interviews and performs with these top musicians, continuing her tradition of giving the audience a special inside look at the performers and their craft and sharing their “un-Google-able” insights about the music they perform..
This Episode 6 will be available on demand after its premiere on YouTube, Facebook, and www.preformances.org
